Creative Writing Workshop with Akila Richards, a published and award winning writer, poet, spoken word artist and playwright.
'We will use the centenary of the suffragette movement to explore our personal and wider freedoms and what it may take to keep it. Freedom in democracy is viewed as a right and even as an entitlement, that yet had to be fought for with courage and losing life. There is no guarantee that this acquired freedom will remain, the freedom to vote, freedom to be educated, freedom from slavery, freedom to artistic expression, freedom to love. Explore the various freedoms we exercise and its journey to getting closer to it."
