The term 'facadism' refers to the practice of maintaining the front of a building whilst stripping the interior architecture and replacing it with something new inside. Should we be so precious about the exterior of historic buildings? Where do we draw the line, and when can we make room for the new? In this discussion we'll get under the skin of this contentious debate, for you to consider and debate how our cityscapes should evolve.
Hear from James Dixon, Standing Buildings Archaeologist, Museum of London Archaeology; writer Gillian Darley; David McKinstry, Traditional Architecture Group; and author Will Wiles.
