In the summer of 1969, after years of effort that followed President Kennedy’s challenge, Mankind’s centuries-old dream was about to become a reality. For the first time in human history, men from planet Earth were about to fly across space and land on another world.
Jerry Stone is giving a presentation about every Apollo mission on its own 50th anniversary, from October 2018 with Apollo 7 through to December 2022, the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 17. Join us for the fifth talk in this series and celebrate the first men on the Moon.
Using contemporary images and video, and bringing along 50-year-old models, newspapers and other materials, and drawing on his considerable knowledge of the Apollo programme, Jerry will give his personal view of this incredible voyage of exploration.
