Free FreeThe world is overcrowded, polluted and stagnant. In 2022, with 40 million people in New York City alone, housing is dilapidated and homeless people fill the streets, half of whom are unemployed. The few ‘lucky’ ones with jobs are only barely scraping by, and food is scarce.
NYPD detective Robert Thorn (Charlton Heston) investigates the murder of an executive at rations manufacturer Soylent Corporation. With the help of elderly academic Solomon “Sol” Roth (Edward G. Robinson, in his last ever role), Thorn begins to make real progress – until the governor mysteriously pulls the plug. Obsessed with the mystery, Thorn steps out from behind the badge and launches his own investigation into the murder…
