John George Haigh of Kensington – Acid bath murderer talk

This event has finished Took place on: Thursday, 12th Mar 2015

 Free

Haigh lived a double life. To his friends and fellow guests at the Onslow Court Hotel he was a charming and cultured businessman, always ready for a chat or to help a friend or go to a concert. His other life centred around a basement flat on Gloucester Road and an untidy shed in Crawley. These were the places where he took his victims, six wealthy people who thought he was their friend, to kill them and dissolve their bodies in acid before systematically stripping them of any financial asset, from spectacles to property.

The speaker, Jonathan Oates has recently written a book on the topic, John George Haigh, the Acid-Bath Murderer: A Portrait of a Serial Killer and His Victims, as well as many other books about crime, including a biography of another Kensington killer, John Christie.
