When South West Trains started in 1996, it was carrying 100 million passengers a year. Today it carries 220 million on what is fundamentally the same railway. It's Network is one of the busiest in Europe.

Already it is running the maximum number of trains possible on the available track.

Phil Dominey will outline plans to increase the number of carriages and other means to provide capacity for increasing numbers of passengers.
