Interweaving Greek mythology with a folk and blues-infused score, "Hadestown" delves into the intricate love story of Orpheus and Eurydice set within a post-apocalyptic world.

Orpheus, a gifted musician, falls deeply in love with Eurydice, a young woman in search of a brighter future. Together, they scheme to depart from the bleak and industrialized realm of Hadestown in pursuit of a world above, where happiness and prosperity await. However, when the ruler of Hadestown offers Eurydice a tempting job brimming with promises of security and comfort, she reluctantly accepts, shattering Orpheus's heart. Overwhelmed by Eurydice's choice, Orpheus embarks on a journey to Hadestown to rescue her. The question remains – will he succeed, or will his love and their chance of escape be forever lost?

The highly acclaimed Broadway musical sensation is set for its eagerly anticipated West End debut next year. Make sure not to miss out on securing your "Hadestown" tickets!

"Hadestown" Strikes All the Right Chords:

The voyage to the West End, via a descent to the underworld, has been a 17-year odyssey for creator Anaïs Mitchell and her team. Originating in Vermont in 2006, the production has journeyed through various incarnations, with performances in Massachusetts, off-Broadway, Edmonton, London, and Broadway before it finally finds its place in the West End next year.

This production has garnered a devoted following at every stop along the way and has shattered records. Due to overwhelming audience demand at its 2016 world premiere, the soul-stirring musical rapidly became the longest-running show in the 40-year history of the New York Theatre Workshop.

"Hadestown" stands as a historic achievement, as it's the first time in over a decade that a woman has been the sole author of a musical, responsible for writing the music, lyrics, and book. This accomplishment marks only the fourth instance in Broadway history where a woman has achieved this remarkable creative feat. The previous productions helmed by a woman include "The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin," "Runaways," and "A Tale of Two Cities."
