Nine addicts are in recovery at a multi-addiction rehabilitation centre. The melting-pot of residents and the over-worked staff must navigate these complex journeys of recovery together. When money and medication begin to go missing, the essential sense of trust at the centre begins to fracture. Circle Game intends to reveal the humans who live inside addiction and how they can choose to climb away from it, but it will always be with them for better or worse. Recovery is possible. You just have to play the game.
Directed by Hannah Hauer-King (The Funeral Director, Moon Licks) and written by Sophie Swithinbank (Bacon, Soho Theatre/NBC) this production promises to be an unforgettable study of the human condition that demonstrates that addiction is human, and recovery can often feel superhuman.
Circle Game is playing alongside No Particular Order, also presented by The Oxford School of Drama.
