No playwright has been subject to as much interpretation as Shakespeare, and it is said that every age recreates him in its own image.
No playwright has been subject to as much interpretation as Shakespeare, and it is said that every age recreates him in its own image. His deep understanding of human nature, his contribution to the English language, the profound beauty and insight of his verse and the grand themes and variety of his plays have inspired some of Europe’s greatest artists and musicians. Join Val Woodgate, Arts Society Lecturer to find out more.
Join us in-person: For access to the event, please use the Aldermanbury entrance to Guildhall Library/The London Centre.
