Eighty years on from Operation Torch - the Parachute Regiment’s first crucial campaign - Mark Urban launches his new authorised history of the regiment.
Drawing on British and German sources, he examines the origins and development of the Parachute Regiment during the Second World War and offers a fascinating insight into the unique mindset of its soldiers.
In this illuminating talk, Mark will tell the regiment’s story through the experiences of six soldiers, showing the motivations that drove them and covering their daring actions at D-Day, Arnhem and throughout the conflict.
