Join Ray Dalio and Minouche Shafik in conversation as they deep dive into the findings of Dalio's recent book, Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order: Why Nations Succeed and Fail.

Expertly putting into perspective the “Big Cycle” that has driven the successes and failures of all the world’s major empires and countries —including the Dutch, the British, and the American— throughout history. The discussion will follow the book revealing the timeless and universal forces behind these shifts and uses them to look into the future, offering practical principles for positioning oneself for what’s ahead.

Meet our speaker and chair

Ray Dalio (@RayDalio) is the founder, Co-CIO & Member of the Board of Bridgewater Associates, a global macroeconomic investment management firm and the largest hedge fund in the world. He is the author of New York Times #1 bestseller Principles: Life & Work as well as Principles for Navigating Big Debt Crises, and has published several studies on current financial and social issues. He graduated with a B.S. in Finance from C.W. Post College (71') and he received an MBA degree from Harvard Business School (73').

Minouche Shafik is Director of the London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to this, she was Deputy Governor of the Bank of England. She is an alumna of LSE. Her new book, What We Owe Each Other: A New Social Contract, is out now. She is co-chair of the Economy 2030 Inquiry commission.
