Camellia Celebration open weekends

This event has finished Took place on: Saturday, 26th Feb 2022

 Free

Visit one of the oldest collections of rare camellias under glass in Europe. Brought by ship from China, where camellias have been cultivated for thousands of years, they were considered a luxury commodity and a symbol of status. At the time of the 6th Duke, people thought they needed to be housed under glass.

There will be free drop-in weekends for you to visit the Conservatory.

Enjoy the spectacle of our famous indoor camellias in full bloom. Photography encouraged! There will be a pop-up shop stocking a selection of gorgeous camellia-themed products including our popular Camellia and Cedar Gin and a limited number of Chiswick House propagated camellia plants.

Please note that due to the fragile condition of the Conservatory wings only the central Rotunda will be open during these open weekends.
