Join Alan to explore the Soho lives of some famous literary figures. Some, like William Blake and Fanny Burney, lived in Soho when very young; others wrote, drank and ate in the area as adults. We will look at the hostelries which were frequented by such literary giants as George Orwell, Dylan Thomas, William Blake, Paul Verlaine and Arthur Rimbaud, the tomb of William Hazlitt, and the home of one of the creators of the horror novel genre. Soho has always acted as a magnet for fascinating, creative, Bohemian characters from all over Europe.
The walk starts at Piccadilly Circus Underground (meet upstairs by the outside stairs to Exit 4) and ends in Gerrard Street in the heart of London's Chinatown, quite near to both Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square station. Please check travel arrangements on the day at Transport for London's Journey Planner site.
