Apple Day at Borough Market

This event has finished Took place on: Sunday, 26th Oct 2014

 Free

Borough Market’s annual Apple Day is set for a make-over this year as the 1000 year old market transforms its traditional apple display into a shiny, white modern setting–creating the first ‘real’ apple store.

To celebrate the launch of the seasonal harvest and to remind shoppers of their millennium birthday, Borough will bring together the biggest ever collection of the nation’s favourite fruit in the exhibition of 1000 oldest, rarest and most loved British apple varieties.

The world’s oldest known apple, Court Pendu Plat, which was introduced by the Romans and still flourishes today, will be displayed in a prestigious Perspex box whilst 999 other varieties will be presented on sleek white plinths and shelving units.

Borough Market’s Apple Day celebration will take place on Sunday 26th October 2014 in the Green Market between 12pm and 4pm.
