1st Jun 2022 | Upgrades the the Piccadilly line escalators were completed and the platforms opened to passengers again. Piccadilly line trains hadn't stopped at the station since February 2021. |
27th Feb 2021 | Piccadilly line trains stopped calling at the station from this date as all the escalators were to be replaced -- was expected that the closure would last around 15 months. |
20th Jan 1974 | New escalators linking the ticket hall and the Piccadilly line opened on this day. |
30th Sep 1973 | As part of the station rebuilding, the new interchange passages, stairs and escalators between the Piccadilly and District lines opened on this day - replacing the old lifts. |
30th Mar 1969 | Westbound District line trains started using the central platform (shared with the Circle line) instead of their own platform on the outer edge of the station. The platform has since been removed. |
