This is a synopsis for a play called This Is A Love Song. It runs for about 90 minutes. It doesn’t have an interval. It tells the story of two women, named Sally and Jamie, who meet and fall in love just before it is announced the world will end in six weeks.
Two lonely people meet on a bare stage. They have some candlelit drinks, a drunken dance, and a sunrise kiss. Then, the announcement is made, the clock starts ticking and everything starts to fall apart. As the end draws closer and the world of the play becomes increasingly vivid, Sally and Jamie find solace, comfort and hope in each other – something they’ve both been missing for years.
A beautiful, tragic and human play about all the pain, sadness and joy of being alive and being in love.
Strong language, sexual references, one scene referencing drug use (MDMA, Ketamine & Marijuana), loud music, and frequent discussion of death, injury, mental health issues – including post-natal depression – and suicide.
