History of Headstone Lane Rail Station

15th Apr 1984The refurbished booking hall opened on 15th April 1984, following repairs to damage caused by a fire in May 1982.
21st May 1982The entrance hall and ticket office were badly damaged by a fire that started at about 11:30pm. No trains called the following day (Saturday), with services resumed on Sunday using a temporary entrance.
