History of Brentwood Rail Station

Circa Jan 1969In 1969 the station's name was changed back to "Brentwood".
7th Nov 1949A full electric service officially commenced on 7th November 1949
Circa Jan 1934In 1934, the LNER doubled the number of tracks passing through to four, with two new platforms opened on the south side of the station and a new booking office.
Circa Jan 1889The station's name was shortened to "Brentwood & Warley" in 1889.
Circa Jan 1882The Great Eastern Railway (GER) took over operation in 1862 and renamed the station "Brentwood & Warley for Billericay" in 1882.
1st Jul 1840Brentwood station opened on 1st July 1840 as a temporary terminus by the Eastern Counties Railway (ECR) on what would become the Great Eastern Main Line.
