History of Richmond (London) station

18th Sep 1987A District line train overran and hit the buffers on at 9:30am on 18th Sept 1987. 15 people were taken to hospital, most with minor injuries, but one with a broken leg. Services were suspended until 4pm the same day.
22nd Feb 1980The last semaphore arm signals on the London Underground were decommissioned on this day with the ones at Richmond station converting to colour light operation.
