We are committed to helping London's schools remain open and operate safely and to help this we will be adding over 200 extra buses to our network from Monday 8 March. We will also be prioritising some of our bus services for school travel from this date. Government guidance allows for all seats to be occupied on these 'school services', doubling their capacity, which is currently limited due to necessary social distancing. These 'school services' will be clearly signed and will operate on several key routes between 0730-0900 (some routes will run until 0930) and 1430-1630 on weekdays. On designated routes 'school services' will operate on an every other bus basis. We ask that schoolchildren travelling without adults use the designated 'school services' where these are provided, to help ensure space for customers on other services.

Hammersmith Bridge: Due to the closure the bridge to all traffic, including people walking and cycling, we have made changes to public transport to help you make your journey across the river, including to bus route 533 which is providing much needed support for local trips between Barnes, Mortlake and Hammersmith. Please be aware this route, can experience some delays and crowding during busy periods. If you are interchanging with London Underground District line services, it may be easier to use Route 378 via Putney Bridge.
