The Art of Dining in Renaissance Italy

The King’s Gallery

Description

Join food historian Marc Meltonville at the King's Gallery, Buckingham Palace as he explores the luxury of dining which played a central role in Italian Renaissance court culture. Inspired by their current exhibition, Drawing the Italian Renaissance, Marc's talk will delve into the sumptuous food that would have been on offer during this period, including sugar and spices newly available through global trading from the New World, the dawn of table manners and the extravagant objects that played an important role in these courtly feasts.

Marc's talk will be followed by a private view of the exhibition and your ticket will also include a glass of wine or soft drink to enjoy while you explore the Gallery.

Your ticket will be converted into a 1-Year Pass, allowing you to visit their current and future exhibitions at The King's Gallery, Buckingham Palace as many times as you like within the next year. See here for more information about the 1-Year Pass.
