How to kill an asteroid (family)

Description

There are approximately 25,000 'city-killer' asteroids in near-Earth orbit, but we haven’t found them all yet! Even though some are too small for us to find, they’re still capable of large-scale destruction. But fear not as an international team of scientists and engineers are working to protect Earth.

Join award-winning science journalist Robin George Andrews as he explores the development of the technology that makes it possible to deflect an asteroid away from colliding with the Earth!

Discover our planetary defense through story telling and demonstrations throughout the talk.

Copies of Robin's latest book 'How to kill an asteroid: The real science of planetary defense' are available to purchase after the talk.
