Description

Starting over 50 years ago, this great photographer has been documenting life in the west London communities of Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill.

British Jamaican photographer Charlie Phillips’ began taking photographs when he was given a Kodak Retina in the mid-1960s.

We present a selection of Phillips’ work along with a film also featuring photographer Eddie Otchere, who has been working with Phillips since 2015.

In the film, Phillips introduces the images and tells some of the stories behind them.

Otchere and Phillips’ collaboration aims to collate and digitise Phillips’ work and make it accessible for future generations.
