Description
An exhibition of powerful visual art, music and writing by people in criminal justice settings, curated by artist Camille Walala and her sister Sarah Ihler-Meyer.
The Koestler Awards is an annual programme encouraging people from the UK’s criminal justice system to change their lives through the arts.
This year’s exhibition features around 200 artworks, all created during the pandemic, chosen from over 6,400 entries submitted to the 2021 Koestler Awards.
Quirky pieces full of humour and joy are joined by those reflecting on loss, relationships and prison life.
Curator Camille Walala is best known for her brightly coloured large scale interventions in public spaces.
