Description

The splendour of west London’s Osterley Park is known to many, but much less is understood about the banking family who heavily influenced what can be seen today.

This exhibition showcases often unseen and recently acquired items to tell the history of the Child family of bankers and their rise to fame and fortune.

Make your way through a collection of art, coins, furniture and porcelain from around the world before arriving at the centrepiece, Baroque artist Carlo Dolci's depiction of Christian martyr Saint Agatha.

On show for the first time, it can be found inside a 'vault' in Osterley's grand Entrance Hall.

The exhibition is included in the price of normal house admission (free for National Trust members).
