Description
The Centre for Russian Music at Goldsmiths, University of London, opens up its collections for display at Barbican Music Library.
This exhibition features rare Soviet scores, texts and vinyl, and tells stories of Soviet composers’ complex negotiations with political power, and of unusual lines of contact with the West.
Contributions also come from the Bush Collection and from the Ivashkin-Schnittke Archive, which holds original compositional sketches by Alfred Schnittke. The Schnittke display marks 20 years since the composer’s death.
