Description

For just one week in July, the Royal Society’s annual Summer Science Exhibition (1 – 7 July 2019) offers a mind-blowing experience for anyone curious about humankind’s latest technological and scientific advances. This free blockbuster exhibition gives visitors unparalleled access to the researchers at the frontiers of science.

Hundreds of the world’s leading scientists will gather at the oldest scientific academy in the world to showcase 22 exhibits exploring the very latest advances in science. With a packed programme of thought-provoking talks, jaw-dropping demonstrations and entertaining family performances alongside the exhibits, there’s something for everyone.

A late night opening of the exhibition for adults only will take place on Tuesday 2 July, with exclusive activities including the science of beatboxing and 3D printed food. Relax after work with one of our sense-boggling cocktails while discovering how carnivorous plants trick and trap their insect prey or taking a spectacular virtual tour of our galaxy.

Families can explore the exhibition at their own pace during the weekend, with a dedicated children’s area in the café for younger visitors and exciting talks, interactive shows and hands-on workshops for all ages. From building your own table-top race car to exploring the hidden depths of the ocean, this is an activity-packed weekend you won’t want to miss.
