Description

Westminster Abbey’s Dean & Chapter has commissioned a unique series of watercolours of the interior and precincts of the Abbey church by the artist Alexander Cresswell.

Alexander Creswell is an internationally acclaimed British artist born in 1957 and best known for the watercolours he painted of the rooms damaged and restored in the Windsor Castle fire of 1992.

His distinctive style in watercolour, completely self-taught, combines subtle colouring and skilful draughtsmanship with a strong reverence for natural light.

The Chapter House is in the Abbey’s east cloister and entrance -- to that part only -- is free.
