An Exhibition of Paintings & Screen Prints By Tom Berry at Deptford Does Art
Daily Rites examines modern humans and the ritualistic heart of our most apparently civilised behaviour. Celebratory, cynical and magical in equal measure, Tom Berry depicts our daily tasks, and the primal feelings which underpin them.
In this series of images the mundane is presented alongside the fantastical; City workers do battle with mobile phones and people ride on top of their domestic animals as if minor deities from a mythical tale.
Bold silhouette form and vibrant colour and are explored in this collection, and each design is presented in two forms: Largely monochrome paintings on wood panel, and vividly coloured screen prints.
