Description
Discover the beauty of locomotive engineering and journey through 100 years of model-making.
Brass, Steel and Fire highlights the great age of experimentation when vicars, lace makers and engineers breathed life into hissing, steaming miniature locomotives. As you travel through this craft-based exhibition you will meet the ordinary people who built the modern world from their kitchen tables and inspired rapid technological change in the time of the Industrial Revolution.
Explore a selection of beautifully intricate homemade creations, including some of the oldest of their kind, and delve into the stories of these humble makers who produced extraordinary machines entirely from scratch.
