Description

The Master Carvers’ Association presents Art & Ornament, a multidiscipline exhibition of current practice by members and friends, showing works that transcend the spurious divide which Gibbons’ legacy continues to effortlessly rebuff.

This exhibition of recent work in wood and stone with painting, poetry and music will be displayed in St Mary Abchurch.

The church, rebuilt after the 1666 Great Fire of London by Sir Christopher Wren, retains a period interior with carved reredos by Grinling Gibbons; the pulpit, font cover, pews, panelling and painted dome are all features by his contemporaries.
