Foreshore Archaeology Guided Walk: Cannon Street

Join the Thames Discovery Programme on a guided walk on the Thames foreshore by Cannon Street in the City of London.

Led by one of our expert archaeologists, discover the archaeology of this fascinating area of Thames foreshore. From the Hanseatic merchants based here who controlled trade across the North Sea and the Baltic, to Mudlarks and City Livery Companies. Seek out Roman tiles and Tudor pottery on the foreshore. Find out about the earlier versions of London bridge from Roman to Victorian bridges. Find out what a house of easement was.

Please be aware that this event involves walking across uneven and muddy ground. It is not suitable for young children or people with mobility difficulties.

The walk will begin at: 9:15, at the top of the river stairs beside the Banker Pub.
