Towards circular cities: London, Vienna, Copenhagen

How can London learn from European cities who are pioneering circular economy strategies to achieve our own zero-carbon status by 2030?

The Mayor has set ambitious targets for London to be a zero-carbon city by 2030. If we are to achieve carbon neutrality our priorities must include retaining buildings and infrastructure while making them more environmentally sustainable and replacing the end-of-life concept with re-use, re-purpose and recycle. How can London learn from the best-practice from innovative European cities to achieve our own zero-carbon status by 2030?

What are the city-wide circular strategies, policies and networks that are being developed outside London on the international stage? What are the challenges and opportunities to adopting circular principles within these cities and how can we learn from each other to overcome these barriers? Where does the role of ‘good design’ align with sustainability issues and could this be the key to unlocking circular innovations?

In this webinar we will hear from three European cities that are producing innovative work in relation to building towards circularity. What lessons can London learn from other cities and countries? This event forms a part of the NLA City Dialogues programme, which brings together speakers and audiences to foster cross-city dialogue and learning between cities.
