Trellick Tower's 50th birthday party

The Trellick Tower opened in 1972, and there's a celebration today to mark its 50th anniversary.

Open House will be organising tours of buildings and flats.

James Dunnett who worked with Goldfinger in his offices in Trellick will be giving a talk, ‘Goldfinger and the Green City’.

SPID theatre group will also be showing their documentary on Social Housing and putting on some street theatre.

There will be competitions, with a graffiti sketchbook competition, photo competition and film competition all being launched.

They will have a limited run of t-shirts on sale.

Hive Graffiti will be taking place, with some of the best artists around on hand to share their skills and create a stunning Trellick Hall of Fame piece for the day.

There will also be a couple of community artworks being made, where you can add your mark in pen or paint
