The Thames Flood Barrier is closed once a month for test purposes, giving you a chance to see the barrier in its fully closed state without the short notice of an active flood closure.

Most closures are for approximately 2½
hours over the respective low waters.

The current known dates are:

Thursday 19th May From 0940 to 1210 BST

Thursday 16th June From 0855 to 1125 BST

Monday 18th July From 1100 to 1330

Monday 15th August From 1010 to 1240

TBC Saturday 24th September From 1430 to 0500 BST; or Sunday 25th September From 0720 to 1720 BST

Thursday 13th October From 0945 to 1215 BST
