Oranges and Lemons is an English nursery rhyme which refers to the bells of several churches, all within or close to the City of London.

“Gay go up and gay go down to Ring the Bells of London Town.” Oranges and Lemons is an English nursery rhyme which refers to the bells of several churches, all within or close to the City of London; its roots go back to the 18th century. Using the rhyme as a road map, City of London Guide & Lecturer Jill Finch will take a stroll through the streets of the City and the East End to visit the various churches and look at their history.
