Talk | Carol Jacobi: 'A toi, Van Gogh!' Van Gogh and British artists

Carol Jacobi will be speaking on the changing influence of Van Gogh on 20th Century British artists, from Vanessa Bell to Francis Bacon.

Carol Jacobi is Curator of British Art 1850-1915, at Tate Britain.

She has curated, taught, written and broadcast widely on nineteenth and twentieth-century art and lead on 'Van Gogh and Britain' at Tate in 2019. The major exhibition cast new and sometimes surprising light on how British art inspired Van Gogh in the nineteenth century and how Van Gogh inspired British art in the twentieth century. The catalogue was shortlisted for the William MB Berger Prize.

Jacobi has publishing on many modern British artists, including the award-winning British Art in the Nuclear Age and her recent monograph about Isabel Rawsthorne and her circle, Out of the Cage.
