Armistead Maupin, the beloved author and LGBTQI+ activist, recounts his favourite tales and shares his observations about the world today with actor Russell Tovey.

Maupin has been blazing a trail through US popular culture since the 1970s, when his groundbreaking series Tales of the City was first published as a column in the San Francisco Chronicle.

It became a novel series which took the literary world by storm and has delighted readers ever since.

It was recently adapted by Netflix into a critically acclaimed series, starring Laura Linney, Olympia Dukakis and Elliot Page.

Russell Tovey is an actor and co-host of the Talk Art podcast.
