An annual parade by the pupils and marching band of Christ's Hospital.
The parade follows a service held at Holy Sepulchre London and will then process round to Guildhall at approximately 12.30pm.
St Matthew’s Day (21 September) is an important day in the school calendar. This was the day on which, from at least 1557, the names of the Governors of the Royal hospitals of St Bartholomew’s, Christ’s, Bridewell, Bethlem and St Thomas were given to the Lord Mayor for ceremonial approval.
The choir, band and senior pupils now travel to London annually on a date close to 21 September for a service in a City church and to receive largesse from the Lord Mayor
Note, although the parade is along the streets, the events in the church and Guildhall Yard are private.
The school asks that if you want watch the parade, please be mindful of their pupils' safety whilst marching and keep an appropriate distance.
