St Mary le Strand will be hosting a re-launch of the Church, now as a traffic-free space on Saturday 11 September, open from 12 noon - 4:00pm, with coffee on arrival in the courtyard from 11:00am.

At 12 noon they will open the Church, with a ribbon-cutting and a toast, to reveal ‘The Sanctuary’, illuminating the stunning Italianate ceiling to the glorious music of Handel.

As this day falls on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers, prayers will be said at 1.45 pm.

You will also be able to follow a heritage trail and tell us your hopes for the Church and the Strand.

They will close with a service of ‘The Blessing of the Light’ at 3.45 pm, led by Canon Peter (Priest-in-Charge) with the Romanian Orthodox Clergy who have been worshipping in this Church.

Face coverings are encouraged inside the Church.
