Lambeth’s Local History Fair has traditionally been the opening event of the Festival, and after an absence last year it now makes a welcome return ‘in the flesh’ in the vast and well-ventilated nave of St Mark’s church where dozens of local society stands, local history experts and bookstalls will be on hand.

Food, drink and refreshments will be on sale at the Oval Farmer's Market outside the church. There is no need to book.

Just drop in anytime to sample the programme of talks and local walks that will be running through the day, including:

* Kennington Park walk at 10:30am

* Postcard Collecting at 11:30am

* Death by Water: the history of St Mark's at 2:30pm

* Herbal Heritage walk at 3:30pm
