Discover Shakespeare's London

This walking tour includes some of London's most famous landmarks, but it also takes in hidden alleyways and historical details that are hard to find without expert guidance.

We will begin at Barbican station and walk towards Shakespeare's former lodgings on the northern fringes of the City. We will see some of the most important buildings and localities of the city that the playwright inhabited, including places where he lived and worked. Eventually we will make our way over to Blackfriars, the site of the indoor playhouse where Shakespeare's late plays were performed, and where he purchased a property in 1613.

Other things to note:

This walk covers ca. 3 miles/5 km and involves stairs; please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for all weather. Please arrive a few minutes before the scheduled time so we can depart promptly.
The duration of the walk is 2 hours and it finishes at Blackfriars, near the Underground station.
