Barely noticeable from London, but there will be a solar eclipse today -- and a small part of the sun will be covered as seen from southern England.

The eclipse will start at 10:09am, reach its maximum at 11:13am and be over by 12:22pm.

From London, about 20% of the sun will be covered which realistically means you might see a very slight dimming, but not much.

The further north the more the sun that will be obscured, up to about 50% in Scotland.

It might be worth knowing it's happening though, in case you want to ban pans to scare off the sky dragon eating the sun.

You need to be in Canada for the big show.
