Agnes Baden-Powell deserves to be commemorated for creating Girl Guiding, the worldwide organisation for girls and young women, as well as for her knowledge and skill in the fields of astronomy, aviation, and as an apiarist, among others. The only question is whether she more adequately fulfils the conditions for a Blue Plaque from English Heritage or a Green Plaque from the Westminster City Council.

Join Catherine Gritz, a City of Westminster trained Guide with a special interest in Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting history, on a Virtual Tour for a closer look at the requirements for each of the commemorative plaques with a special focus on the Agnes’s residences in London throughout her life. The tour is free of charge but donations to the Friends of Pax Lodge (http://bit.ly/fopldonation) are encouraged. Please note that Catherine is not in any way affiliated with either the English Heritage or the Westminster City Council Plaque Schemes.
