Florence’s partnership with Sidney Herbert was the most important of her life, thus sadly an inevitable target for innuendo. The true nature of their relationship can only properly be understood by appreciating that it involved a third party: Mrs Sidney Herbert. A talk at the Florence Nightingale Museum by Russ Foster, Sidney Herbert’s biographer.

Dr Russ Foster worked at Embley Park, the Nightingale’s Hampshire home, for 20 years and has recently written the first full-life biography of Sidney Herbert. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.

The talk is included in museum entry price and is suitable for all visitors 16+.
