Volcanoes do not respect international borders meaning eruptions in one country can have impacts across wide regions.
James Hammond, Reader in Geophysics and Director of the Mount Paektu Research Centre will deliver a live talk on the mixture of diplomacy and science needed to understand the origins and hazards associated with Mount Paektu, a large volcano on the border of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) and China.
