To celebrate the recent opening of the world’s largest medical galleries, January’s Lates will explore how medical innovations have shaped our world.

Visitors to Medicine Lates will journey through the history of medicine while catching a glimpse at future medical technologies in an evening of themed events and activities inspired by Medicine: The Wellcome Galleries. Visitors will discover whether everyday items in our homes are making us ill; test their diet to see if they’re getting enough iron; and discover how cutting-edge technology is transforming medicine from innovations in transplantation to keyhole surgery.

Visitors can get hands-on with medicine in our creative workshops, from therapeutic colouring exploring the human body, to designing PPE gear to defend against the spread of infection and diseases. Plus, researchers from Imperial and UCL universities will be inviting visitors to take a 3D body scan as part of an ongoing Live Science experiment.

The Science Museum will also be joined by Christmas chart toppers and veterans of Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage, the NHS Choir. All this and much more, including the last chance to visit the Top Secret exhibition after hours and silent disco.
