A dedicated research scientist discovers the secret of invisibility when he experiments on himself with the drug monocaine. But with the advantages come the setbacks. Invisibility not only means having to hide for an hour until discernible food inside has digested, but it also affects the brain: madness and megalomania take over, resulting in a reign of terror and murder.
In a decade where nearly all of the Hollywood heavies got in on the mad doctor act ('If there's a doctor in the cast, watch out!') The Invisible Man' stands out as one of the best: a triumph of chilling menace, satirical humour and superb trick photography.
The film will be preceded by an introduction by Gareth Miles.
