Visitors can dare to get hands-on with spiders, snakes and other creatures as we attempt to dispel some of the myths that have caused so many of us to fear them. In a series of gruesome activities not for the faint-hearted, visitors can test their ‘attractiveness’ to blood-sucking mosquitoes or embark on a medical journey through the bloodstream in study of cuts, scabs and bruises.
Explore the psychology behind ghost encounters, discover the sociological, medical and pharmacological origins of the undead and test your zombie apocalypse survival skills in a collective behaviour experiment with scientists from the Universities of Essex and Bristol.
Plus, embrace the Halloween spirit and make yourself up as a zombie in our Zombie Lab, make your very own slime in our Slimetime workshop, and learn the steps to some ghoulish dance classics.
All this and much more, including the chance to visit our brand new free exhibitions The Art of Innovation: From Enlightenment to Dark Matter and The Royal Photographic Society’s Science Photographer of the Year after hours, as well as our famous intergalactic silent disco.
