Where Light Falls

This event has finished Took place on: Saturday, 26th Oct 2019

 Free

Inspired by original poetry, cutting-edge projections will illuminate this iconic landmark in honour of the men and women who risked their lives to save the Cathedral during the Second World War. Putting themselves in the path of bombs, the daring members of St Paul’s Watch ensured the survival of a masterpiece that became a symbol of resilience.

Historic England, working with the Poetry Society and leading creatives Double Take Projections, invite you to uncover the hidden histories of our wartime heroes.

Where Light Falls, in partnership with St Paul's Cathedral, and its companion piece at Coventry Cathedral (14 – 16 November), is inspired by What Remains, a jointly curated Historic England and Imperial War Museum exhibition focusing on the deliberate destruction of cultural places, the objects and stories that bring them to life and the rebuilding of culture that follows. What Remains runs from 5 July 2019 - 5 January 2020.
